After the draws have been made I think we are in for some very entertaining games in both codes, especially the hurling with the martins group in particular looking very open.I am going to be very boring in my Hurling predictions with Martins to win and Fethard to go straight back down. While in the football I am predicting Glynn to make the breakthrough and Gusserane to make the drop.

Well done all. Nevertheless Kitty Goldsmith's birthday present has to date given her many fun moments and hopefully she has many more to look forward to. Having passed the test in its previous three qualifying races the greyhound Ashfield Impact stood no chance in its final qualifier for the final of the Connolly Redmills Irish Laurels stakes as he recieved a number of bumps after leaving the traps which put paid to his chances.

In the hurling, it will be really interesting to see how Naomh anna kick on after their historic first senior win last year and having to cope with more of their squad being involved with county teams than ever before. There are now 4 or 5 clubs with genuine aspirations to win the hurling, which is great for the championship, and I will guess that St. Last year's finalists will be put in separate pools and the same for the beaten semi-finalists but after that it's an open draw so should be exciting. The football is wide open as ever so I'm going to guess that Castletown, if they can finally figure out how to score more, might win the title to create a maroon double. Martin's might learn some lessons from last year's final defeat and go one better in 2019. The championship draws will take place on Saturday 2 February in the Talbot Hotel and will be broadcast live on South East Radio (normally around 6pm).

Senior:St james v sars-big game as I expect 1 of these or gusserane to be in the relegation play off out of that group, sars so unpredictable even in terms of players available so I'll go for ramsgrange Kilanerin v gusserane- Kilanerin by 5 or 6 Castletown v martins- martins of all 12 senior teams probably put the least into football but also arguably have the strongest panel. Big year for the martins 1 senior title across both codes sense 2013 is a poor return given the talent available.Horeswood v Glynn- Glynn comfortably I think horeswood could go straight back down they were lucky to win intermediate last yearStarlights v annes- close call, alot depends if liam ryan has recovered from the injury picked up against galway he's the heartbeat of the stars team as important to them in football as he is in hurling. They've had castletowns number in recent games and I think that will continue.
