Thanks to parents for traveling with the girls and their encouragement and support on the sidelines. Kilmallock Credit Union U8s travelled to Murroe Boher GAA for a blitz on Saturday. We played Ahane, Monaleen and Murroe in 3 very close games. The girls played super and as usual showed great determination getting really stuck in to all games. Thanks to Murroe for having us and for the lovely refreshments after.

Sunday 2pm - Ahane v Kilmallock (Gaelic Gnds) County Q-Final

In what could be described as a 'very lively' match, the Ahane boys showed great resilience and maturity to close out the game very much on top. The last game was a very closely contested affair and the second Na Piarsaigh team just eeked out a win as the heroic efforts of the second match began to take their toll. We would like to thank Na Piarsaigh and Kilmallock for a very enjoyable evening. The mentors and players were able to use the changing rooms before the game and this was a big thrill for all with the children hanging their tops on the clothes hooks and imagining a big match dressing room atmosphere. We had two teams playing three matches each, one of our teams had a slow start against Kilmallock but really got going in the second half for a very enjoyable game, with 2 further and very good games against the Na Piarsaigh teams with the Ahane players performing well and enjoying the experience. The other Ahane team got off to a great start against the first Na Piarsaigh team and this proved to be a great warm up for the second game against Kilmallock. With incredible marking and some very impressive score taking it was by far the display of the season, and the animated Ahane supporters on the side line agreed with a spontaneous applause for the team on the final whistle. Overall it was a memorable night and the children can be so proud of how far they have developed over the course of the year. U8 : The Ahane U8s had a great time under lights in the Gaelic Grounds on Friday last with a blitz against Kilmallock and Na Piarsaigh.
